Recently I came across a very remarkable brochure published by the Israeli Association for Combating Oncology.
And I really wanted to share with you what is written in it, someone can use it in the struggle for life.
To your attention a series of excerpts from a brochure or rather from a series of brochures for cancer patients:
Part I:
What is cancer?
Cancer is a generic name for a group of diseases characterized by uncontrolled growth of body cells - tiny structures
From which the organs and tissues in our body are composed. The cells of the body show different functions, but they are renewed
Similarly, by dividing, to heal or build damaged tissues. Most often, this cell division occurs
In an orderly and controlled manner. In cancerous cells, however, the process goes out of control and they continue to divide
And multiply non-stop.
Cumulative scientific studies point to a link between cancer and genetically inherited material.
This association relates to two gene groups: cancer suppressor genes, which protect us against cancer, and genes
Oncogenesis.) Cancerous tumors develop when the balance between stimulating gene activity is broken
The division of cells, and the activity of genes that prevent excess cell division.
Cells that divide without control and control of the various systems in the body become cancerous. On
In order to develop a cancerous tumor, the tissue in which the tumor is developing accumulates a large number of genetic changes
(Mutations) that neutralize the many defense systems that exist in the body, this process of accumulating mutations
Called the cancer transformation process. This process is prolonged, and many years, during which time should accumulate
A large number of mutations (tens to hundreds) in different genes in order for the cancer transformation process to be completed.
